Libertarian Party Ticket of Chase Oliver & Mike ter Maat Polling at 8%
INTRODUCTION
The Oliver-ter Maat campaign commissioned a poll among voting-age Americans which illustrated three major findings.
1. Support for the Libertarian Party ticket is strong.
Survey data show that an estimated 8% of voting-age Americans choose the LP ticket of Chase Oliver and Mike ter Maat.
Furthermore, 10% choose the Libertarian Party ticket when using ranked-choice voting, which allows respondents to rank all of the candidates. This indicates that many people who would vote for the Libertarian Party ticket decline to do so because they prefer to vote strategically, believing they should select one of the two legacy parties, which traditionally have had a better chance to win.

2. Libertarian policies are supported overwhelmingly and increasingly.
- 88% of survey respondents agreed with the statement:
Our criminal justice system and the way we manage police are fundamentally flawed, requiring profound reform. This figure is even higher than when we ran the same poll in 2022. - 73% agreed with:
A government that forces people to be vaccinated under threat of losing their jobs has violated our basic rights and must be stopped. This is way up over the result of two years ago. - A government that shuts down our businesses and our way of life in order to fight the spread of a pandemic has gone too far. 63% agreed and that is way up over 2022.
- Economic recessions and inflation result from bad government systems and institutions, requiring deep change. 77%, even higher than two years ago.
- America’s ability to control events around the world through military power is both a waste of money and an ethical failure. 63%, also up since 2022.
- The government does not have the right to censor what people say online or anywhere else, no matter what we say. 76%, which is higher than 2022.
- The government does not have the authority to regulate what types of guns or ammunition citizens can own or carry. 55%, also up since 2022.
- Centralized planning is arrogant, saying that a bunch of people in Washington D.C. are going to figure out your life better than you will. 75% and that is higher than two years ago.

3. The Libertarian Party ticket has the professionalism for which Americans are looking.
- Polling data show that 74% of voting-age Americans agree that a professional economist representing a third party would be an effective advocate for making deep reforms to the way our government works. Vice-presidential nominee, Mike ter Maat, is a professional economist who has worked for the White House, taught economics at three universities, advocated for a decade in Washington for free markets and has been a successful entrepreneur.
- Polling data show also that most voting-age Americans agree that a former police officer representing a third party would be an effective advocate for making deep reforms to the way our government works. Ter Maat, is a former police officer, having served on patrol for eleven years in fast-paced Broward County, Florida.
